CHICAGO (WLS) — Governor JB Pritzker has announced Christian Mitchell will be his running mate as a candidate for lieutenant governor of Illinois.

Mitchell has experience as a deputy governor for four years and was previously a three-term state representative. Juliana Stratton, the current lieutenant governor, is seeking a seat in the U.S. Senate.

According to Governor JB Pritzker, “Christian Mitchell is a proven leader with extensive experience, sound judgment, and a strong dedication to the working families of Illinois. Christian has played a significant role in advancing various initiatives, such as transitioning towards clean energy, rebuilding infrastructure, and enhancing community safety. I am confident that he will continue to work diligently to achieve positive outcomes for the people of Illinois.”
