While calling out President Trump’s “lapdogs” on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late night host took aim at Jeff Bezos, who he says “folded” on an interesting new Amazon policy after facing some pressure from President Trump.
Jimmy Kimmel shared a clip from Tuesday’s White House briefing in which Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed Amazon for reportedly wanting to list the extra costs added by tariffs on Amazon products.
“I love that idea! I think that’s fantastic,” Kimmel raved. “Isn’t this the thing they always brag about? Transparency?”
Leavitt, on the other hand, called it “a hostile and political act” and pointed out that a recent Reuters report revealed Amazon began working with a “Chinese propaganda arm.”
“Now theyâre quoting Reuters. On Monday, that was propaganda, too,” Kimmel pointed out, before adding, “But Trump was reportedly very upset about this brilliant idea so much so he called Jeff Bezos to scream at him about it. Why? I don’t know. Those are the beautiful tariffs heâs so proud of.”
He continued, “Theyâre gonna make us rich. He should be demanding they put his name on them. I demand they put his name on them!”
“Unfortunately, after speaking to Trump, Bezos folded faster than an Amazon Basics umbrella and that will not happen,” Kimmel said.
The late night host has ruthlessly criticized the tech entrepreneurs who have bended the knee to Trump during his presidency.
He wasted no time in calling out Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg for rolling back Metaâs fact checking regulations in alignment with Trump’s agenda, which could aid the spread of misinformation.
âWe call it the olâ suck and Zuck,â he said.
