The reality is revealed! Jenna Bush Hager and her husband Henry Hager’s bond faced a challenge on the recent Today with Jenna & Friends episode, where they engaged in a “Lie Detector Duel.”
John Grogan oversaw the test, which involved posing simple yes or no inquiries about Jenna and Henry to one another to gauge the honesty of their answers.
“Henry, have I ever given you the ick?” Jenna asked her husband, who earnestly replied, “Yes.”
The answer immediately registered as being truthful according to the lie detector.
“When did I give you the ick?” Jenna asked.
Henry admitted, “Sometimes in the morning, you know, you might wanna brush your teeth.”
Jenna exclaimed, “That is so rude! OK, I’m gonna remember that in the next one.”
The questions only got more intense, as Henry asked Jenna if she had been “nervous at all [that] he would be a good co-host” on Today.
“Yes,” Jenna answered.
When the answer was deemed true by the lie detector, Henry said he’s “a natural.”
Jenna added, “I wanna protect you, sweetie! As opposed to saying my breath smells bad in the morning.”
She was able to get back at him when she asked if he still has “anything from an ex” of his, which he confirmed.
“I’m a Boy Scout, I tell the truth,” Henry teased.
As for what he still has from his ex, Henry shared, “Pictures, maybe? I don’t know… letters?… I don’t know where they are.”
During Henry’s opportunity to question Jenna, he asked if she had ever purposefully ignored him, to which she confessed.
“I didn’t ghost,” she clarified. “I just want some boundaries around how fast I have to reply.”
Henry understood, telling his wife, “That’s fair.”
The couple, who took the entire test in stride, were both asked the following question to conclude the test: “After doing this segment, do you love each other even more?”
Henry was up first to answer, and after replying “yes,” his response was revealed to be a lie.
“You moved! Try it again,” Jenna insisted while laughing. However, his answer was still deemed a lie after another go through the lie detector.
“Do we regret this?” she teased.
Nonetheless, Jenna said she did love her husband more after the segment, which was registered as true. She quipped, “Anybody else want to use this machine? Seems to do wonders, you know, for relationships.”
They then decided to take a risk by asking if they “will stay married.” After both answering yes, their responses were deemed to be true.
“We needed a happy ending, you know what I’m saying?” Jenna remarked.
