Once known for her progressive beliefs, the famous author of the “Harry Potter” book series, JK Rowling, unexpectedly found herself at the center of the discussion on “transgender rights” when she openly backed a British woman named Maya Forstater in December 2019. Forstater had lost her job due to resurfaced old tweets where she argued that biological males cannot identify as women.
Despite facing backlash, intimidation, and even attempts to silence her by government authorities (Rowling currently lives in Scotland), she has remained steadfast in her stance on the matter. Rowling has not shied away from expressing her opinion, despite numerous efforts to cancel her.
Additionally, Rowling has received death threats in the name of “tolerance” and “inclusion,” including from a transgender influencer who, in 2022, openly stated a desire to harm “TERFs” (a term used in transgender circles to refer to “Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists”), a category in which Rowling is included.
