Blake Lively battle takes fresh twist as Julia Fox enters feud with 'inhumane' claim

In a somewhat bizarre twist, actress Julia Fox has entered the on-going legal feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

On Monday, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million defamation suit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, the New York Times, her publicist Leslie Sloane and her PR firm Vision in a major setback for the actor.

In response, Fox, 35, has declared she will support all women whether or not they are correct in the accusations they make.

Lively, 37, is suing her It Ends With Us co-star and director Baldoni for sexual harassment, which he denies.

I was very happy to hear the news about Blake Lively because I support women all the time,’ she told the Daily Mail in an exclusive interview at Tribeca Film Festival.

‘I support women when they’re right. I support women when they’re wrong. I support women when they’re likable, and when they’re unlikable, I support women that I have nothing in common with.’

Fox, who rose to fame after starring in Uncut Gems and later dating Kanye West, continued: ‘I support women that I do have things in common with, and I’m going to support Blake.

‘I believe women and I do know that she has been a victim of the internet and I have seen the way that people have just been so inhumane.’

She added that, in the future, she would never work with Baldoni.

Fox has her own experiences dealing with trolls, from cruel responses to her fleeting 2022 relationship with Kanye, or the near-naked ensembles she has become famous for.

Fox certainly pushes the envelope when it comes to dressing, whether it’s her street style or red carpet looks, although she stuck to a more pared-down gown for the Tribeca festival, wearing a white baby doll bubble dress.

Fox told the Daily Mail she believes that even if Lively’s claims against Baldoni are baseless, the Gossip Girl actress ‘still doesn’t deserve’ the backlash she is currently facing in the public eye.

‘The punishment for women always outweighs the crime and we don’t even know if there was a crime,’ Fox continued, adding that she wishes ‘people would just shut up until we have all the facts and just stop speculating.’

The Italian-American actress has not reached out to Lively as she does not know her or have friends in common because they’re ‘different kinds of girls,’ but she wants Lively to know ‘that it might feel like the whole world is against you, but there are people that are rooting for you.’

‘As someone who has been on the receiving end of so much online hate and trolls and nasty headlines and clickbait, I can sympathize and I know how isolating that feels,’ Fox continued, calling it ‘so embarrassing.’

The mom-of-one believes ‘you do one wrong thing as a woman and…it’s always immediately punishment, humiliation, shame.’

Lively sued Baldoni, 41, for allegedly sexually harassing her on set back in December. He and Wayfarer Studios then fired back with a defamation suit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds , and her publicist, Leslie Sloane.

Baldoni also waged war against The New York Times , filing a $250million lawsuit against the publication over its bombshell tell-all about Lively’s sexual harassment claims against her former co-star. All parties have denied the claims against them.

On Monday, Lively shared an emotional statement reacting to the judge’s decisionto dismiss Baldoni’s countersuit.

‘Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organizations united in defending women’s rights to speak up for their safety,’ she began. ‘Like so many others, I’ve felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us. While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back.’

Lively wrote that she was ‘more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story.’

This isn’t the first time Fox has stood up for a woman involved a complicated case. In November 2022, she detailed why she felt compelled to stand up for Amber Heard amid the star’s bitter $100million defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Speaking to Emily Ratajkowski on the model’s High Low podcast, she said the case proved that that ‘none of us are safe’ if a ‘blonde, beautiful and successful’ actress like Heard could allegedly be abused.

In Fox’s memoir Down the Drain, she detailed her struggles with an abusive and neglectful childhood, drug addiction, and difficult relationships, as well as sexual relationships with older men when she was only 11.
