Every home needs a touch of Sarah Jessica Parker â or so Kelly Ripa thought.
Ripa explained the reason for not having Halloween decorations this year during a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Mark. She mentioned that their home was featured in Architectural Digest, which is why they opted out of festive decorations.
She confessed, “I was initially not in favor of it. We had always turned down such opportunities because I had a superstition that it might bring bad luck to our home.”
However, Ripa gushed about the magazine transforming her home.
Ripa humorously expressed her disbelief, saying, “I couldn’t recognize my own home. The transformation was so elegant, and it seemed like all traces of our living there had disappeared,” she chuckled. “They had cleaned up everything from the kitchen… Let me show you this picture first because I couldn’t believe this was my daughter’s room.”
Before sharing the picture of their daughter Lola’s room, Ripa and Consuelos teased that the room had not looked this pristine since the day they moved in.
“To be clear, when we moved in, this is what it looked like… for five minutes. Then she took over, and it became not this. I sent her this picture and I said, ‘I would like for you to return your bedroom to this level of order,’” she said. “Isn’t that pretty?”
Ripa then turned everyone’s attention to a poster on the wall that reads “Sup.”
“For years I thought that that painting hanging over her little chair said ‘SJP.’ And I was like ‘Oh my God, I love that it says SJP. I love that we have a Sarah Jessica Parker art piece,’” she recalled. “And then Lola said to me, ‘That says Sup. As in what’s up.’”
Consuelos quipped, “Not her most mornings, believe me, when the alarm clock’s going off.”
