‘Severance’ Superfans Kristen Bell And Dax Shepard Sent Adam Scott Angry Voice Memos After Season 1 Finale: “You F***ing Prick”

Just like us, celebrities enjoy getting hooked on TV shows. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, who are big fans of the workplace thriller Severance on Apple TV+, were left in shock by the intense cliffhanger that concluded Season 1.

After watching the suspenseful Season 1 finale of Severance, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, true superfans of the series, were eagerly anticipating Season 2. What set them apart was having direct access to Adam Scott’s phone number…

In a revelation made during Episode 7 of The Severance Podcast with Ben Stiller & Adam Scott, the actors disclosed that they had sent a series of outraged voice messages to Adam Scott following their viewing of the Season 1 finale. Their messages were filled with expletives directed at Adam, director/EP Ben Stiller, and the show itself for leaving them in suspense.

“We do more than watch the show. The show has been disruptive to our lifestyle. We’ve lost many a night’s sleep over these cliffhangers,” Bell told listeners.

“We then assault Adam with — we send all these voice memos to Adam and Naomi at night when we’re pissed. We’re like, ‘God, I hope he plays them for Ben,’” Shepard added.

In addition to discussing their love for the series, Bell and Shepard helped unpack a fan-favorite Season 1 episode, “Defiant Jazz,” written by Helen Leigh and directed by Stiller. After they finished the episode run-through (and Bell shared her spot-on Patricia Arquette impressions), Scott decided to close the show by playing the couple’s hilarious, threatening voice notes — along with his responses — for all to hear.

“All right, you son of a bitch, you wanted the compliments, well here comes the fucking complaints. Bell and I just sat here on the edge of our seat, waiting to find out what happens when you guys come to —” Shepard said in the voice memo he sent Scott.

“You fucking prick,” Bell added. “Losers.”

“Piece of shit prick. And that goes for Ben, too,” Shepard continued. “Oh buddy. Are we fucking pissed that this episodes just ended. So you wanted the fucking cake and now you’ve got to take the rat poison, too. You piece of shit.”

In a second voice memo to Scott, Shepard said the following: “Quick update you’d probably find funny. My wife just ran through a plate glass window off the second story of our home and was rushed to the hospital. You probably want to know if she’s still alive. I will tell you next week.”

In a third voice note, Shepard tried to stress the urgency of Season 2 by saying, “If you’re listening to this message and you’re not on set, fuck you.”

In response, Scott sent a torturous voice memo of his own, telling Shepard and Bell, “Not only am I not filming right now, I’m sitting in a jacuzzi relaxing, so so far away from even being close to filming. So I guess what I’m trying to say is again, eat shit.”

The Severance star later sent another hilarious voice message to his pals that said, “So I’m here in New York working on the show, and it’ll be ready when it’s ready, okay? I heard your message on February 25th. I listened to it and then I brought it in. I played it for Ben. We listened to it together. And you know what we decided to do? We decided to slow the fuck down. That’s right. We’re going to take it real easy so you’re just going to have to wait a little bit longer. You fucking assholes, eat shit…”

The friends plan to keep up the tradition when Severance Season 2 arrives, and without giving away any spoilers, lots of cliffhangers and scream-worthy voice message-worthy moments await.
