Brother of man nearly decapitated at Arizona bus stop by hatchet wielding suspect speaks out

A man armed with a hatchet almost beheaded Jacob Couch, a 32-year-old man, at a bus stop in Tuscon, Arizona. The incident occurred while Couch was on his way back home to Alabama with his wife.

The suspect, Daniel Michael, who is 25 years old, is facing felony assault charges and has been held on a $1 million cash bond in Pima County. The attack, which appeared to be random, has left Couch fighting for his life.

Couch has been in the hospital on life support for the past two weeks following the brutal attack on April 5. Unfortunately, medical officials have stated that his chances of survival are slim.

He and his wife, Kristen Couch, were in California mourning the loss of their stillborn son a year ago. The couple decided to travel cross-country back to their hometown of Arab, Alabama, when their lives were upended in Tucson.

Michael. Michael was arrested at his home in Tucson’s East Side three days later.

Police said a search warrant was executed at the home, “where investigators located additional evidence.”
