Marin, California – Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of West Marin sits the Marin French Cheese Company, a long-standing cheese-making establishment. With a rich history spanning 160 years, the company remains dedicated to preserving the land for present and future generations.
“Our approach combines traditional methods with innovative techniques. Each cheese is crafted using recipes that have stood the test of time. While our cheese-making process has largely remained unchanged since the 1800s, we are always open to enhancements and modifications,” explains Bonnie Kaufman, the brand manager at Marin French Cheese Co.
“The ambiance here is truly unique. It feels like a journey through time. Whether it’s 1925 or 2025, the experience is timeless. Surrounded by the vast landscapes and the natural beauty of West Marin, there’s a distinct charm in disconnecting from technology, immersing oneself in the surroundings, and appreciating the unspoiled land,” highlights Kelley Levin, the Hospitality Marketing Manager at Marin French Cheese Company.
The ranch allows people to come and purchase all sorts of products like cheese, wine, honey and other locally sourced products from the shop. Customers can also enjoy their purchases on the expansive property and enjoy the pond and wildlife in a peaceful landscape.
“I think everyone is always surprised to hear that we are the country’s oldest cheese company. We’re here in California, so it’s always a big surprise and we are really proud we have 160 years under our belts. We have the most years as cheese makers in this country, and then they taste the cheese, and it speaks for itself,” Levin expanded.
