The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has imposed a $68,000 fine on Representative Maxine Waters’ campaign. This penalty comes after an investigation revealed that the campaign had received and distributed contributions that exceeded the permitted limits.
The FEC filing refers to the campaign’s treasurer as the “committee” and alleges that they knowingly accepted excessive contributions. Additionally, the filing accuses them of inaccurately reporting both incoming funds and outgoing payments.
In addition to the fine, Waters’ campaign, based in California, is required to enroll their Treasurer in a training program organized by the Commission for political committees.
Legal counsel for her campaign, in a letter to the FEC amid the investigation, admitted “errors were made which were not willful or purposeful.”
The FEC, in a bipartisan 4-0 vote, opted to accept the agreement and will subsequently close the file on the matter.
The most vocal unhinged Democrats are always guilty of corruption or fraud.
