Nancy Mace makes stunning accusations of rape and sex trafficking in 'scorched earth' House floor speech

Rep. Nancy Mace delivered an astonishing speech on the floor of the House Monday night where she said she had uncovered a ring of men who engaged in serial rape and sex trafficking while filming their victims.

The South Carolina Republican brought a series of props to the well of the House including handcuffs, cameras, a safe, and a drinking glass to illustrate her case, as she spoke for more than half an hour on the floor about the explosive allegations.

Mace said the glass served as a representation of how she says she was raped after blacking out when served two small vodka sodas.

She identified the alleged perpetrators by name – even giving the towns they live in – on the House floor during extended speaking time that had been yielded to her by the congressional Republican leadership.

‘I will burn this system to the ground if I have to,’ she intoned.

‘Today, I’m going scorched earth,’ vowed Mace, who wore white and invoked her Christian faith during her speech. Seated on the floor were Reps. Lauren Boebert and Anna Paulina Luna.

Mace says she gained access to the information after going through the phones and digital equipment of the man she claims was just one of four ‘predators.’

She says she used it to contact another woman she learned was raped, documenting ‘almost a dozen victims.’

One person she identified, ex-fiance Patrick Bryant, vociferously denied the allegations against him in a statement to DailyMail.com.

‘I categorically deny these allegations,’ he said. ‘I take this matter seriously and will cooperate fully with any necessary legal processes to clear my name.’

Another person Mace identified in her speech responded: ‘I unequivocally deny all the allegations made against me which are baseless, repugnant and defamatory. I intend to fight this in a court of law.’

The Charleston, South Carolina lawmaker says she uncovered digital evidence of women and girls being photographed without their knowledge – ultimately finding herself in the images in a discovery that shook her to the core.

‘This monster stole my body. It felt like I had been raped. He stole my body without my permission, without my knowledge, and without my consent,’ she said while describing how she responded to the discovery.

But while describing a 2022 incident where she said she blacked out, she added: ‘I was raped that night. Was it Patrick Bryant? I don’t know, but I was raped.’

Mace described how she says she came across the information that compelled her to speak to the Congress, where C-SPAN cameras aired her allegations live across the country, and when lawmakers’ speeches gets formally entered into the Congressional Record.

‘I saw another video of another woman who was undressed, clearly on a camera, unaware she was being filmed. She was slender, and she had long brown hair. I turned up the volume to hear if there was audio. I heard my voice,’ she said, describing an alleged 2023 incident.

‘I zoomed in on the video, and that woman was me.’

The House floor, which was silent while she spoke, was an extraordinary venue for such serious allegations.

It came at the end of legislative business for the day.

Mace gave her account using descriptive language about ‘evil’ acts – while also detailing a specific number of images she says she obtained from a single camera to buttress her account.

Blown up posters showed images of the properties where she said the activity occurred, and another poster contained images of the people she said took part.

Mace says she contacted law enforcement, which elected not to pursue the case.

Although she does not specify how she handed over the information she obtained, she said the state did not accept ‘additional, physical’ evidence from her late last year.

DailyMail.com has reached out to the South Carolina Attorney General’s office as well as individuals Mace has identified seeking comment.

The AG’s office told the State newspaper that no case was ever referred to its office.

A more fulsome statement by the AG called the accusations ‘categorically false,’ and accused Mace of mischaracterizing the role of the AG. ‘At this time , our office has not received any reports or requests for assistance from any law enforcement or prosecution agencies regarding these matters,’ the office said.

The statement further states that Mace and the AG have been at multiple events together and that she ‘has the Attorney General’s personal cellphone number’ and ‘not once has she approached or reached out to him’ regarding her concerns.

None of the people Mace identified by name been accused of any wrongdoing in any formal proceeding, and prosecutors have not brought charges against any of them and no arrests have been made.

DailyMail.com has not seen, and Mace has not yet shared, video or digital evidence that would purport to show the alleged victims or alleged perpetrators of the assault or trafficking.

She described her effort during her speech as an effort to take on ‘predators’ and ‘abusers masquerading as men of character’ who she called ‘depraved.’

‘These men didn’t just harm their victims; they recorded their depravity as if it were a badge of honor,’ she said.

She acknowledged her mother, who she said was in the chamber.

Mace, who took office in 2018, says she learned about the trove of images in 2023, and was assaulted on Nov. 12 of that year.

She says she found the material after learning that Bryant had been active on a dating app – something he has previously denied, saying he was merely going on an old account to shut it down.

She got engaged to the South Carolina entrepreneur in May 2022 but called things off 18 months later after discovering that he had a Tinder account.

Their split triggered a messy legal fight over two pricey properties the ex-couple jointly purchased, one in South Carolina’s exclusive Isles of Palms, the other close to her D.C. office.

That six-bed Low country was listed at $4.8 million after a lawsuit was filed by Mace but quickly settled in mediation.

The D.C. home is currently on the market. Mace claims she was given ‘legal access’ to his phone, and discovered an app including files she says were taken from a hidden camera. Mace says she discovered 10,633 videos on it.

The day after the alleged assault, she says she fled her home and missed her flight. In a Nov. 14 tweet the following day, Mace wrote that she had a family emergency in her state that required her to delay travel and missed a vote to impeach former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Mace is active on social media, and is no stranger to controversy, often delivering slicing attacks on her political opponents. She introduced a bill banning transgender bathrooms in the House and made clear the effort was aimed at Democratic Rep. Sarah McBride of Delaware, the first openly transgender woman in the House.

She was seen on a video guzzling a shot and passing it on to a female friend in a drinking game during the 2016 presidential campaign. This month, a top Democrat accused her of using a ‘slur’ to refer to transgender people during an official proceeding. Mace said she has been diagnosed with PTSD, lives ‘looking over my shoulder’, and suffers from vertigo.

She calls the incident a ‘deeply traumatic event’ and says she hit ‘rock bottom last year.’ The handcuffs Mace brandished were meant to send a message to anyone who would try to intimidate her.

‘I brought handcuffs with me today. If anyone would like to arrest me for standing up for women – here are my wrists. Arrest me. Take me to jail, because I am 100% guilty of turning over evidence of Peeping Toms, turning over evidence of rape, turning over evidence of voyeurism,’ she said.

She accused the state attorney general Alan Wilson of ‘kicking the can down the road’ and failing to act on information he was provided 7 months ago. Wilson is a potential political opponent should Mace decide to run for governor, which she has said she may do.

‘I was told my domestic violence incident wouldn’t be investigated,’ she said, without identifying who told her the information.

Mace did not specify why she decided to air her stunning allegations on the House floor as opposed to another venue. Lawmakers are generally protected by the Constitution’s ‘Speech and Debate’ clause.

She spoke about multiple pieces of legislation intended to expand legal rights for victims of illegal filming and other crimes. She titled her speech ‘Iron Sharpens Iron,’ and promoted it in advance on social media.

At one point an aide placed behind her a poster with a hotline for victims of abuse: 843-212-7048.

The number connects to a recording that features Mace herself.

AG Alan Wilson’s web site has prominent tabs dealing with Internet Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking. At a press conference two weeks ago, Mace accused Wilson of not having ‘done anything for women and girls.’

‘I will take him out. I will personally make sure that he is never governor of South Carolina,’ she vowed.

There was a smattering of applause when she concluded her remarks in the nearly empty chamber.
