Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat from New York, has been traveling by private jet for her “Fighting Oligarchy” tour while her constituents in Queens are seeking help from the FBI and the DEA to address the presence of illegal sex workers and drug dealers in their neighborhood, which they describe as a crime-ridden “gangland.”
Local leaders, including a former Democratic state senator, recently sent a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel requesting assistance in tackling the escalating issues along Roosevelt Avenue – a 2-mile stretch of commercial establishments that has been compared to a Third World Country and a Red Light district, known for the common sight of scantily-clad women soliciting sex on the sidewalks.
They also allege that the 18th Street Gang has taken control of illicit activities in the area, stepping in to exploit the vacuum left by other gangs like Tren de Aragua following a significant police crackdown that led to the arrest of hundreds of individuals.
