The Giggly Squad has finally made its way to The Drew Barrymore Show.
Podcasters Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner attended the Drew’s News desk with co-hosts Drew Barrymore and Ross Mathews to discuss a current trend where parents can “swipe right” for their children on dating apps. Despite 79% of the audience opposing the trend, Berner and DeSorbo sided with the 21% who would appreciate parental assistance.
“This is a hot take. If my mom doesn’t like him, I don’t like him. If you can’t charm my mom, how are you gonna charm me?” Berner said.
DeSorbo, who is recently single and close to her parents, shared similar sentiments.
Berner humorously mentioned, “I feel like I would love an arranged marriage if my mom picked who I was marrying. I think that arranged marriage should come back because I want it.”
Since announcing her separation from “Southern Charm” star Craig Conover in December 2024 after a three-year relationship, DeSorbo’s dating life has been a popular subject. The ups and downs of their relationship in its final months have been unfolding on Season 9 of “Summer House,” with DeSorbo vocalizing her concerns about Conover in the “Summer House After Show.”
“I think I loved him so much that I tolerated too much. And now that I’m out of it and I look back on things, I’m like, oh, wait, anytime that I had a career milestone, he found a way to make it about him,” she said. “Or anytime there was something and it was for me — it was my friend’s wedding or a family wedding — he would find a way to make it about him and make me have a bad time. It was just embarrassing.”
DeSorbo admitted that there were times when she would withhold career milestones from Conover because she knew “deep down” he wouldn’t be happy for her.
“I feel like when I meet my husband I’ll want to call him before I call my dad,” she said. “And I haven’t met anyone like that yet.”
