Court documents that have recently been filed reveal that a protester from Los Angeles, who was involved in a highly publicized arrest captured on video, has now officially been charged with a criminal offense. The charge against Thomas Guzman pertains to allegedly assaulting a federal officer by throwing a rock at the agent’s face shield during the incident.
Guzman was taken into custody close to the Roybal Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles on a Thursday evening. He is specifically facing a felony assault charge in connection with the incident involving the federal officer.
A video obtained by Fox News shows the chaotic interaction, with officers screaming for protesters to get back.

Thomas Guzman was seen in the video being escorted from the protest by authorities.
Upon his arrival at the holding cell of the Federal Protection Service (FPS), Guzman reportedly made a statement to law enforcement officers admitting his guilt, saying, “Man you got me, I knew I should have ran,” as detailed in the court documents.
The arrest happened after demonstrators throughout the week got close to law enforcement, ridiculing and taunting them.
Officers held their line for hours before the arrest took place.
