Rockefeller Center is rolling out the red carpet for the celebration of “Saturday Night Live” turning 50 years old. The special event titled “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” will be broadcast on a unique Sunday night, February 16th, at 8 p.m. on NBC and Peacock.
The grand three-hour 50th anniversary spectacle brought together numerous former stars from the show, such as Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Molly Shannon, Jason Sudeikis, Kate McKinnon, Maya Rudolph, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Laraine Newman, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Pete Davidson, John Mulaney, Kristen Wiig, Seth Meyers, and many others.
Creator Lorne Michaels shared in an exclusive interview with the Post, “The special features individuals from various eras, with many from the first five years. They all share a common experience that transcends time, making everything look and feel familiar, maintaining a consistent process. It’s a unique environment where 80-year-olds collaborate with 20-year-olds, a scenario uncommon outside the US Senate.”
