Two police officers are in the hospital after exchanging gunfire with a suspect during a traffic stop on Wednesday in Fairfax County, Virginia.
The incident took place around 3 p.m. in the 4000 block of Majestic Lane, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD). This area is close to the Greenbriar Town Center, a well-liked shopping spot in Chantilly that houses numerous stores.
Two officers, who have not yet been publicly identified, were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to FCPD.
To conduct an investigation, the Fairfax County police decided to shut down Majestic Lane between Lee Jackson Highway and Meadow Hill Lane. Motorists are advised to steer clear of this section and find a different path to their destination.
