President Donald Trump is getting ready to sign a directive that will allow all members of the Armed Forces who were discharged for not taking the COVID vaccine during Joe Biden’s presidency to return to active duty.
<>”The Executive Order directs the Secretary of Defense to reinstate all members of the military (active and reserve) who were discharged for refusing the COVID vaccine and who request to be reinstated,” according to the White House fact sheet.
The service members who are reinstated will be restored to their prior rank, and will be provided back pay and benefits, according to the fact sheet.
Between 2021 and 2023, the Biden Administration and the former Secretary of Defense discharged more than 8,000 troops because they refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Among the 8,000+ discharged, only 43 chose to return to service when the vaccine mandate was lifted in 2023.
According to the information provided, a mere 43 out of over 8,000 service members who were let go for refusing the vaccine have opted to rejoin the military. It will be intriguing to observe whether the change in leadership will entice more individuals to return.
The COVID order was one of the greatest breaches of faith ever perpetrated on the Armed Forces by the civilian and military leadership. One of the vaccines had FDA approval; the other didn’t. The military treated them all equally with what will be discovered to be Agent-Orange levels of injuries.
I don’t know what process will be used for this. Typically, a reinstatement order would be processed by a records correction board, which would calculate backpay and ensure you are promoted with your peer group.
This has been a strong start to Monday, chock full of promises kept; see . There is a lot more to do, but we are moving forward instead of sinking into the tar pit of leftism.
