Wednesday evening in Queens, New York, saw a shooting attack outside a nightclub that left ten people injured. Those injured were part of a crowd waiting to enter a private event at the Amazura Night Club when four unidentified men approached and began shooting.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday in Jamaica, Queens, about 15 individuals were outside the Amazura Concert Hall when a group of 16- to 20-year-olds was targeted by four men on foot. The New York Police Department Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera reported that three or four men started shooting at the group during a news conference early on Thursday.
About 30 shots were fired before the gunmen fled on foot. They were then seen getting into a sedan with out-of-state plates.
There is “zero tolerance for these senseless shootings,” Rivera said.
Six females and four males were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening, he said.
This incident, unlike recent acts of terrorism and violent events in other parts of the country, may sadly appear like a more common type of crime, underscoring the challenging times in which we live.
