Dix Mayor Glen Hughes issued the following statement:
The current Mayor expressed disappointment, stating that many in Dixon may feel shocked and outraged by the decision to grant clemency to Rita Crundwell, who orchestrated one of the most significant cases of fund misappropriation in the nation’s municipal history. Despite the dark cloud this news casts on Dixon, the Mayor emphasized the city’s remarkable recovery, both financially and developmentally, since the Crundwell scandal. He highlighted Dixon as a vibrant and thriving community committed to further growth and optimistic about the future.
