Ross Mathews Scolds Drew Barrymore For Not Showering After An Ocean Swim: “Have You Heard Where They Drain The Sewage?!”

Ross Mathews was utterly stunned to hear that his bestie Drew Barrymore doesn’t shower after going in the ocean.

During the recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, hosts Barrymore and Mathews brought in Dylan Efron, the breakout star of Traitors Season 3, to discuss his bathing routine.

Efron shared, “I do shower, usually once a day like most people. I believe people tend to overdo it with showering. It’s all about the loofahs. I don’t think it’s necessary to vigorously scrub our shins every time we shower.”

Mathews was thrown off by Efron’s lack of loofah use, but Barrymore couldn’t have agreed with him more.

“I love you for this because I’m so sick of every time people are like, ‘Well, the kids have been in the pool,’” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh, please!’”

Barrymore chimed in, reminiscing, “Back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, none of us were obsessed with cleanliness like we are now. We would sunbathe with baby oil and just dive into the pool without a second thought. Nowadays, we are much more cautious, which is probably for the best. But, being a child of the ‘70s, we didn’t bother washing off the chlorine after pool time.”

Both Barrymore and Efron were shocked to see that only 8% of the audience agreed with them.

“I just got dry and warm. I don’t want to get wet and cold again. And I love — like, I’ll go into the ocean and not shower. I love it!” Barrymore confessed, to which Efron exclaimed, “Same!”

Meanwhile, Mathews couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“What? The ocean? Have you heard where they drain the sewage, dear?!” he asked his trusty co-host. “It’s the ocean! What are you doing?! Are you a mermaid? What are you doing? You need to shower after the ocean!”

But Barrymore stood firm in her beliefs, telling Mathews, “Guess what? I’m still alive and I don’t shower after the pool or the ocean.”
