Since President Donald Trump assumed office in January, there has been a significant focus on the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). With the DOGE team assigned to uncover government inefficiencies and corruption, USAID has come under scrutiny, revealing troubling findings as more information is uncovered.
Just a fortnight into the new administration, the recently appointed Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared that he would assume the role of acting director at the agency.

On Tuesday, Rubio made a notable announcement concerning the future of the agency and the approach the U.S. will take towards foreign aid moving forward.
July 1 is the first day of a new era of global partnership.
