Man's bizarre egg-throwing rampage leaves neighbors shell-shocked as he is unmasked as San Francisco businessman

A man seen in shocking footage during a bizarre egg-throwing rampage has been revealed to be a California businessman.

The San Francisco Standard uncovered that Aaron Dawson, a sales executive residing in San Francisco, was the individual who threw eggs at a building while engaging in a heated argument with onlookers.

Dawson was also allegedly seen pelting eggs at a homeless man by a witness who reported the incident to police.

‘This man pelted a homeless man with eggs on the side of San Francisco Mercantile,’ an employee of the shop wrote on a WhatsApp group.

‘Many people came to help the homeless man, and he’s okay. Cops notified and sent the images.’

A video capturing the event depicted Dawson, donning a stylish suit, standing near his car trunk and launching eggs at the windows of a nearby establishment which lasted for almost a minute.

During the confrontation, a woman could be seen standing behind Dawson, urging him to cease his actions, while another man appeared to step out of his vehicle to film the scene, and a third person entered the scene just in time to narrowly avoid being hit by an egg.

‘Stop that! Stop that, bro!’ one person can be heard saying as Dawson crazily continued on his rampage. ‘It’s not okay!’

The chaotic footage captured the bystanders attempting to hold Dawson back as he tried to grab more eggs from the open trunk of his gray Toyota Prius.

One person was seen trying to hold both of Dawson’s arms above his head in an attempt to stop him from launching the four eggs he had ready to go in his hands.

Dawson ultimately kept the eggs high above his own head and successfully pushed through the small crowd to continue his meltdown.

‘You’re a disgrace of a man!’ a woman can be heard yelling. ‘F***ing disgusting. Get out of here! F*** you and your $10 eggs!’

Despite their efforts to intervene, Dawson repeatedly tossed the eggs around the neighborhood after he grabbed even more to throw from a 48-egg carton he had on deck.

As he continued to throw the eggs every which way, one of the same bystanders stood right in front of him with his hands up, though his effort to stop the egg-throwing lunatic proved to be unsuccessful.

Just a second later, a man wearing a white hoodie and brown beanie took out the carton of eggs from Dawson’s trunk before walking away from the scene, depriving him from any more ammo.

Dawson began arguing with witnesses outside of his car where he was captured getting increasingly angry over those trying to stop him from causing any further damage.

At one point, a bystander pushed the aggravated Dawson out of the way with the nudge of a finger, to which Dawson responded with his hands up.

Arguments only continued as Dawson was captured getting in witnesses faces after being questioned why he threw eggs at a homeless man sleeping on the corner.

When confronted with the action, Dawson responded: ‘That man attacked me earlier. That man hit me earlier.’

Bystanders were heard as they told Dawson that they didn’t care about his reasoning, to which he doubled down on his claims, adding that ‘that man threatened my children’s life.’

As the video concluded, Dawson was captured calmly walking back to his running car as if nothing happened.

A day after the rampage, a homeless man near Belvedere Street pointed to eggshells on his blanket and told The Standard that Dawson was the man who threw eggs at him while he was sleeping at the corner of Cole and Haight street the night before.

‘I was just laying there and defending myself with a blanket,’ the man, who declined to give a name, told the outlet. ‘I was scared for a little bit. I had to think about it.’

Sergio Guillory, an employee at Haight & Cole Liquor, confirmed to the outlet that he saw the same homeless man, who is said to be known in the area for defecating between parked cars, walk past the store covered in eggs on Monday evening.

Shortly after the incident, The Standard was able to identify the man as Dawson, whose LinkedIn profile picture showed him wearing the same blue-checkered jacket and white shirt combo that he was seen wearing in the video from the rampage.

An attempt to contact Dawson through a phone call following the egg-attack was unsuccessful as he hung up before explaining the reasoning behind his tantrum.

Using a phone number from public records, The Standard then contacted Kelly Dawson, his wife, to query the incident.

‘Are you a mental health doctor?’ she said upon answering the call. ‘Are you able to suggest a mental health doctor?’ she added before suddenly hanging up the phone only seconds later.

The San Francisco Police Department responded to a report of battery on the corner of Haight and Cole street around 6pm early Monday evening.

The viral video, which quickly garnered attention on San Francisco’s Reddit page before it was locked by moderators of the forum, was filled with confused viewers who cited the economy and the high price of eggs in the comments.

After responding to the scene of the rampage, the police department said that the victim decided not to report any injuries and declined to press charges against Dawson.

Additionally, no arrests were made in connection to the incident, police said.

However, when officers later identified Dawson as the suspect, they conducted a mental health evaluation after visiting his home.
