As authorities like law enforcement, the National Guard, and the Marines strive to manage the chaos in Los Angeles and other significant cities, questions arise about who is financing these activities. The rebels seem unusually well-prepared, displaying professionally made signs and other materials.
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) has raised concerns about the backers of the rioters and rebels, focusing his attention on a particular group. Recently, Senator Hawley declared an inquiry into the operations of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA).
People are asking, who is providing the funds for the LA riots? This unrest doesn’t seem random. In my role as chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime & Terrorism, I am initiating an investigation to uncover the truth – pic.twitter.com/B4qaN8qbZP

The Senator’s letter to CHIRLA’s Executive Director, Angelica Salas, begins:
I write in my capacity as Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism regarding your organization’s alleged role in financing and materially supporting the coordinated protests and riots that have engulfed Los Angeles in recent weeks. While peaceful protest is a cornerstone of American democracy, these demonstrations have escalated into lawless mob actions. They have obstructed federal law enforcement, endangered public safety, and disrupted the rule of law. This lawlessness is unacceptable. It must end.
The Senator then goes on to list a series of documents that CHIRLA should preserve and make ready for review by the Subcommittee.
RedState’s own Jennifer Van Laar replied with a list of other nefarious things Angelica Salas is involved in:
You need to look at all the orgs Salas is involved with https://t.co/1MFkepVaHw

While it remains to be seen what will come out of all this, establishing a trail of funding to groups that are arguably in rebellion against the United States could have far-reaching consequences.
