Lewis’ aunt shared the news of her “talented nephew”s passing on Facebook on Tuesday (Feb. 25), urging people to keep his family in their prayers.
The passing of a loved one can bring a mix of emotions, but there is solace in believing they are in a better place. The heartfelt message shared expressed comfort in picturing the warm welcome the departed soul received upon reaching the gates of heaven, surrounded by departed family members and friends. Fellow contestant Brittany Allen also expressed grief over the loss on social media, highlighting the void left by the departed individual in both their personal and professional circles. The sentiment echoed the sentiment of many who felt the absence of his light in their lives.
An official cause of death has yet to be disclosed.
Anthony Ryan Auld Lewis, originally from New Jersey, gained recognition by placing 10th in Season 18 of the reality show Project Runway. The show focuses on aspiring fashion designers vying for success in the industry. Lewis’ background included summer classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) during his high school years and further studies in fashion design at Clark Atlanta University, as per information available on Bravo’s website during his time on the show.
His bio notes that Lewis “found his style and flair for the dramatics, on which he founded his brand” at Clark Atlanta University, though he did not graduate.
In the five years ahead of his Project Runway debut, he served as the creative director for Stephen F, a menswear company, and was working on his own clothing line. His designs designs have been worn by Leah Janae and Cynthia Bailey, and have appeared on the Emmys red carpet, Pose Season 2 and at the Bermuda Fashion Festival.
