Charles Barkley is undeniably entertaining, whether you are a fan or not. The 11-time NBA All-Star and renowned broadcaster is known for his unfiltered opinions, making him more famous for his controversial takes than for his successful basketball career.
During a recent broadcast on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” Barkley didn’t hold back his thoughts on the city of San Francisco. He went off-script, criticizing the city known for having Gavin Newsom as a mayor and Kamala Harris as a former district attorney.
Barkley, also known as the “Round Mound of Rebound,” was discussing the development of a young player when he went off in a different direction:
Discussing the All-Star candidacy of Detroit Pistons’ rising star Cade Cunningham, Barkley made it clear that while Cunningham may attend the game hosted at the Oracle Arena in San Francisco by the Golden State Warriors, he himself won’t be present.
“He’s going to make the All-Star Team,” Barkley said. “I’m not going. I’m not going to that rat-infested place out in San Francisco.”

Barkley responded to one of his colleagues calling San Francisco “beautiful.”
“San Francisco is not a beautiful city. Rats. Cats. Y’all are not gonna make me like San Francisco.
“No. Nope, nope, nope.”
