A ski enthusiast suffered severe injuries after tumbling 1,000 feet down a mountain in Colorado over the weekend, while emergency responders faced challenges due to multiple 911 calls dropping out.
A 29-year-old individual was exploring South Arapaho Peak, which is about 50 miles northwest of Denver, on Saturday. As per the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, he was attempting to ski down Skywalker Couloir.
The man slipped and fell down the mountain, tumbling approximately 1,000 feet before eventually landing on a nearby slope, deputies said.

Multiple 911 callers were initially unable to reach first responders due to poor cell service on the mountain. (iStock)
