Joe Burrow burglary mystery deepens as it's revealed SI model called cops... and not his long-time girlfriend

The burglary at Joe Burrow’s $7.5million Cincinnati mansion was reported by a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model who is not his long-time girlfriend Olivia Holzmacher, it has been revealed.

According to TMZ Sports, Olivia Ponton – who boasts eight million followers on TikTok – called police after the break-in at Burrow’s luxury pad at around 8:14pm on Monday.

Ponton is said to have told officers that she noticed ‘a shattered bedroom window and the room ransacked’ when she arrived at the property.

Burrow, the star quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, was almost 1,000 miles away in Texas for a Monday Night Football showdown with the Dallas Cowboys when the burglary took place.

It is unclear why Ponton was at his home, though documents from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office state that she is ’employed by Mr. Burrow.’

The police report also adds that she gave officers ‘a non-detailed itemization of what items were possibly missing.’

Burrow has been in a relationship with Holzmacher since his college days at Ohio State, with the pair first going public with their romance back in 2017.

Last year former Bengals cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones even claimed the couple were engaged during an appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee show, though neither party has ever confirmed as much.

Eagle-eyed fans also speculated that Olivia appeared to be wearing an engagement ring at around the same time.

However, Burrow and Holzmacher have not been seen in public together since the latter shared a photo of them in January, leading to rumors online that they may have gone their separate ways.

When she arrived at Burrow’s house and discovered that someone had broken in, Ponton reportedly phoned her mother, Diane, who then called police.

Diane is quoted as saying on the call: ‘[Olivia] is wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding or if she should be going outside.’

Ponton could later be heard saying herself in a separate call: ‘Someone broke into my house… It’s like completely messed up.’

While the burglary drama was playing out back in Ohio, Burrow helped the Bengals secure a late 27-20 victory over the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

The 28-year-old completed 33 of his 44 passes for 369 yards and three touchdown passes on the night.

Neither Burrow or Ponton have commented publicly on the burglary or why she was at the NFL star’s house on the night it took place.

Earlier this year, the NFL issued a security alert to teams and players after recent burglaries at the homes of Kansas City Chiefs duo Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Mahomes and Kelce saw their homes raided last month, with the latter thought to have lost $100,000 in jewelry and his first ever Super Bowl jersey.

Kansas City quarterback Mahomes reportedly lost jerseys, medals, trophies, awards and more, while the crooks are also believed to have swiped jewelry and designer bags belonging to his wife Brittany.

It was later revealed that police are convinced a South American crime ring was behind the recent burglaries of their mansions.

The FBI was investigating the incidents, as well as the burglary of one other current NFL player’s home, and believe the thieves were part of a wider underworld organization, meaning players have been warned to take extra precautions at their homes.

Athletes from other fields are also being targeted, with NBA star Bobby Portis claiming that thieves broke in and took ‘most of his prized possessions’ while he was on court for the Milwaukee Bucks last month.
