Final Destination is making a comeback with the upcoming movie, Final Destination Bloodlines—also known as Final Destination 6. Fans are buzzing with excitement to see what new fears this installment will bring. Personally, I still can’t shake off the dread of driving behind a log truck on the highway!
The Final Destination horror franchise originated in 2000, brought to life by the creative mind of screenwriter Jeffrey Reddick. The premise involves the protagonist cheating death due to a psychic premonition. However, fate demands a sacrifice, leading to a series of bizarre and increasingly absurd accidents resembling something out of a complex Rube Goldberg machine. In the Final Destination world, even the smallest mishap can lead to catastrophic consequences.
Directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein helm Final Destination Bloodlines, a direct continuation of the storyline from the franchise’s fourth installment, 2009’s The Final Destination. The film follows Kaitlyn Santa Juana as Stefani Reyes, a college student who discovers that her family’s existence is a mistake as their grandparents outsmarted death. Now, destiny is determined to rectify this error by claiming its intended victims.
If you watch just one Final Destination movie before this new one, make it Final Destination 4, aka The Final Destination. But if you want to catch up on the whole franchise, good news: You can watch all the Final Destination movies streaming on Max.
