Gabriel Olds' lovers write twisted letters of support for his violent sexual fantasies before his rape trial

‘He taught me about a world of intimacy which was beyond my experience.’

These are the chilling words spoken by a woman, a medical doctor, defending Hollywood actor Gabriel Olds, who is facing trial for multiple alarming sex crimes. Olds, a Yale graduate and well-known actor, has been accused of being a sex predator.

“He was such a gentle ass slapper, I told him he could go harder,” another former intimate partner wrote in a series of exceptional character references supporting the disgraced actor, as revealed by an investigation conducted by the Los Angeles Times.

52-year-old Olds was apprehended in Los Angeles last August and is currently facing 12 felony charges, including rape, sodomy, and other sexual offenses involving six women he was romantically involved with.

‘We would incorporate choking and other painful acts, and we frequently videotaped ourselves too,’ proclaimed another woman in her letter of support.

‘It was the best sex I have ever had,’ said another former lover who wrote fondly of the couple’s ‘situationship,’

Det. Brent Hopkins of the LAPD’s Special Assault Section, tells DailyMail.com the case is, ‘definitely unique, not like any other case that I’ve handled or we’ve seen for quite a while.

‘I’m not surprised that he has people supporting him. He’s a charming guy, he’s very charismatic and has an impressive background.

‘There are plenty of people who enjoy that lifestyle and as long as everyone’s consenting to it and talks about it before and after and are all on the same page, no problems at all.

‘The problem for him is that he did not always get consent and crossed that line from a relationship between two adults and the privacy of someone’s bedroom into something that became a crime and landed him in jail,’ he says.

Hopkins advises couples to know their comfort level before things get out of hand in the bedroom.

‘Ideally, they’re going to get that established beforehand,’ he says.

‘Is it okay if I do this? Yes or no? And check in with the person ahead of time.

‘It’s not very romantic, not very passionate to sit down and discuss this thing ahead of time – but it’s also going to avoid a lot of the confusion and a lot of the fear that people have when they’re not consenting to it.

‘If two people agree in advance, “Hey, we’re going to have sex and it’s okay for you to spank me or pull my hair or do whatever else” – if both people say, yes, that’s okay then that’s not a crime.’

Olds is being represented by attorney Leonard Levine who is also defending Monica Sementilli who is accused of plotting the murder of her famous hair stylist husband Fabio. She pled not guilty to charges of murder with special circumstances and conspiracy.

According to the LA Times, prosecutors assert that Olds, rather than being a charming romantic, was a sordid monster with an ‘insatiable appetite for this violent type of sex.’

There are ‘at least’ 24 women involved in the shocking case, per the outlet.

The alleged victims told police they were pressured into having sex with Olds – but his supporters insist he isn’t incapable of harming women and are fiercely supportive.

Women accusing him of being a violent sex abuser have attended pre-trial court hearings – as have his loyal and loving supporters.

One supporter, who says she dated Olds for a year and wished to remain anonymous, commented, ‘I do not believe that he did any of these things. I know him, and this is just not who I know him to be.’

The seeds of the criminal investigation were planted in January 2023 when a television producer who had met Olds online filed for a restraining order.

‘We had sex and he began to choke me,’ she wrote on the application form. ‘I asked him to stop and he didn’t. I tried getting out and I couldn’t. I blacked out. I think he slapped me to wake up.

‘I then got very sick and vomited. My therapist said I have PTSD.’

She said she also had photos of bruises caused by Olds who, with an attorney, worked out a settlement with her.

Terms of the confidential agreement, included as part of his rape case, allowed Olds to admit no wrongdoing – although he paid the victim’s $2,700 medical expenses.

At the time she reported the incident to the LAPD, according to the Times, but the district attorney’s office did not pursue assault charges because, according to a member of the prosecutor’s office, ‘This case cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.’

But the woman, seeking justice, was determined and didn’t give up.

She set up a Facebook page called ‘Are We Dating The Same Guy?’ which prompted five more women to come forward with their stories. Three of the women claimed they nearly blacked out as Olds strangled them and they pleaded with him to stop, according to a prosecution filing.

Two of the incidents occurred in 2013 and the rest in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Olds’ defense team has reportedly dismissed the first woman’s behavior as a ‘campaign’ that encouraged other women to believe they had been assaulted by Olds.

‘It is hard to ignore the fact that not one of the allegations, except for [the producer], was made contemporaneously,’ his high-priced attorney Levine stated in a court filing last year.

Olds was arrested at his Studio City rented property. A female friend told the LA Times he was ‘genuinely surprised’ to hear the identities of his accusers.

His attorneys insist the accusers had asked to be choked as part of erotic asphyxiation sex-play.

Olds had already started working as an actor before he graduated Yale. In 2021, he portrayed televangelist Pat Robertson in the indie film ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye. He has also appeared on ‘Law & Order’ and ‘Charmed.’

His mother, Sharon Olds, 82, has been dubbed the ‘laureate of sex’ for her provocative literature which included a poem about her son’s genitals when he was aged six.

Jennifer Adams, a longtime friend, said he likes ‘very intelligent…very strong’ women.

Another of Olds’s former lovers told the Times, ‘When you’re not having sex with him, he’s like, “Do you want a cappuccino?”

‘He’s just like a really lovable person.’

Adds Hopkins, ‘When someone just assumes I can do all these things because all my other girlfriends let me do this, but doesn’t get that consent, then that’s where it becomes a criminal matter.’

He calls it ‘unusual’ that Olds had no prior criminal record prior to his arrest ‘and then so many people came forward.’

And he says of the accusers, ‘This isn’t a group where one spurned girlfriend convinced all of her friends to report him.

‘You might expect that in a high school where one student decides to put a case on another one or a teacher. This is something where the people don’t know each other at all for the most part. They all tell a similar story.’

The detective reveals some of Olds’ alleged victims were punched on various parts of their bodies as part of his shocking sex rituals.

‘For some people, that’s enjoyable,’ explains Hopkins, who works in the LAPD’s Special Assault Section. ‘ForsSome people, that’s even an enjoyable non-sexual thing. They like the physical release, but not in conjunction with having sex.

‘If that’s not something that you’re into, not something you asked for, and not something that you agreed to, then that’s a crime.’

Hopkins adds that his department investigates ‘unusual things’ but calls Olds’ case ‘unique given his status as a public figure, given the time frame involved, where it spans more than 10 years, and given the severity of what some of the women reported.

‘Most of them didn’t come forward at the time, because they thought this was just a date gone wrong, and “I’m the only one.” Then they realized, “Oh, wait, I’m not alone.”’

The LA Times reports that supporter, called Ashley, wrote in support of Olds, ‘If I felt I couldn’t breathe or he was becoming too rough for my comfort level, I would push on Gabe’s shoulders and he would let go.’

Another letter, signed ‘A. Crisci,’ read, ‘When he placed his hand around my neck, I felt safe.’

Former lover Jill Tizekker, wrote, ‘He always stopped when I prompted him to.’

Despite the pleading letters Judge Cathryn Brougham has declined to reduce Olds’ bail amount and he remains incarcerated prior to his trial.

He is being held on $3,500,000 bail. If convicted he faces a maximum of sentence of 93 years to life in prison. A trial date is still to be determined.

Olds’ attorney has been contacted for comment.
