UnitedHealthcare CEO murder suspect arrested at Pennsylvania McDonald's

A person who graduated from an Ivy League institution was apprehended at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. This arrest came after a witness identified him from pictures of the suspect shared by law enforcement, as revealed by a source familiar with the investigation to Fox News Digital.

The individual in question is Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old software engineer, who was found with a gun and silencer resembling those used in the shooting of Thompson. Additionally, he was found in possession of four counterfeit IDs, one of which bore the same name as the ID used by the suspected shooter to register at a hostel on the Upper West Side, as reported by the New York Post.

A high-ranking law enforcement official, as reported by the New York Times, stated that Mangione had documented grievances against healthcare companies for prioritizing profits over providing proper care.

NYPD officials arrived at the department several hours after Mangione was taken into custody.

Altoona is a city located about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Mangione’s Goodreads account shows that his literary interests range from Socrates to Aldous Huxley to the writings of Unabomber Ted Kaczynski.

Thompson was shot three times outside the Hilton Midtown in New York City. The suspect in the shooting was last seen at Port Authority bus station in Upper Manhattan.

Mangione has not yet been formally named by law enforcement as Thompson’s shooter.
