An entire school district in New Jersey was closed on Monday due to a potential threat to staff and students, leading to the arrest of a teacher, authorities reported.
Amir Doctry, a 45-year-old Montclair School District staff member who is currently on administrative leave, was taken into custody by the Montclair Police Department in connection with the threat.
Doctry was charged with making terroristic threats and has additional charges pending.
According to the police, the threat was brought to their attention on Sunday, prompting an immediate investigation. Although the specifics of the threat were not disclosed, authorities revealed that it was communicated through social media and targeted a particular staff member.
Following Doctry’s arrest, police said there was no further danger to the community.
