Despite a troubling health update, Teddi Mellencamp is “feeling positive.”
The previous star of the television show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently had surgery to address multiple brain tumors. She provided an update on her condition through Instagram on Thursday (March 6), revealing that the tumors in her brain were not operable. Additionally, she mentioned having two tumors in her lung, all stemming from her melanoma.
Fortunately, Mellencamp highlighted that “the doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them,” and remained optimistic.
Despite these challenges, she expressed optimism about her situation, sharing her confidence in overcoming this battle, receiving a wig that she prefers (short hair without bald spots), and joking about remembering all of Angelina Jolie’s children’s names.
Mellencamp concluded her post by quoting Bravo’s own Andy Cohen, writing, “Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off cancer!”
Various Bravo stars, both past, and present, showed their support in the comments section of her Instagram post. Notable personalities include Emily Simpson and Tamra Judge from The Real Housewives of Orange County, Cynthia Bailey from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Scheana Shay from Vanderpump Rules, and Jackie Goldschneider from The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Mellencamp edited the caption of her post about two hours after she originally posted it. According to People, she had initially written that she has “3 more tumors in [her] brain and 2 tumors on [her] lungs,” and that the immunotherapy “begins Tuesday at 11AM.”
Mellencamp, who was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, underwent surgery last month to have tumors removed after doctors found “multiple” in her brain. In a Feb. 12 Instagram post, she explained that she had “been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches” over “the last several weeks.”
She updated her followers on Feb. 26, sharing how “grateful” she is for “the incredible surgeons, doctor, and nurses who made [her] surgery a success and [her] recovery process comfortable,” and thanked people for “the outpouring of love and prayers.” Last week, she also shared a selfie captioned, “Staples out and ready for radiation.”
According to Page Six, Mellencamp had been released from the hospital on Tuesday (March 4) after spending 16 days there.
