The Return of Eric (With)Holder

When Democrats resurface after a long absence to comment on current events, it’s a good time to examine their past actions to ensure consistency in their values. As Tucker Carlson puts it, if they are pointing fingers at you, chances are they are guilty of the same behavior themselves. This seems to hold true.

Recently, Eric Holder, Barack Obama’s former attorney general, has been making the rounds on talk shows after being off the radar for nearly a decade, to provide commentary on President Trump’s actions. However, maybe he should reconsider.

According to a report by CNN, Holder took issue with FBI Director Kash Patel for sharing a photo on social media of Hannah Dugan being escorted away in handcuffs with the caption: “No one is above the law.” Holder argued that this action violated a Department of Justice (DOJ) policy that he himself had established, which states that DOJ personnel should not publicly disclose a defendant’s photograph unless it serves a law enforcement purpose or if the photo is already part of the public record for the case. Holder also claimed, “Whatever the issues with what the judge did, they’re trying to maximize intimidation.”

Now, there are a couple of disconnects that I see with this pop-off. Essentially, the part of the policy that says you can’t post an image unless it serves a law enforcement function. Well, posting that photo certainly serves a law enforcement function. It serves the function of deterrence. This is kind of what having any penalty for breaking the law does, in addition to getting a lawbreaker off the street. It’s a function of the process, and a little ridiculous for Holder to pull this one out of his trick bag. It shows just how weak progressives are in their mad drive to kill Trump’s administration by a thousand little cuts. You show the judge in cuffs, and it reminds the other judges that when you break the law, you get caught and go to jail. And obstruction of justice is an actual charge. Because nobody is above the law…

So Holder is just hollering in the echo chamber and should be ignored. Next, Holder was widely quoted as saying, “I am Obama’s wingman.” Well, what did that mean? It meant that he was going to put his thumb on the scales and favor Obama’s preferences as they pertained to the law. It didn’t mean anything else, or he would have said something like, “I am The Law’s wingman.” But he didn’t because he was biased. Not a good look for a guy who is supposed to represent the balanced scales of justice. Because nobody is above the law…

In 2012, he was held in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over documents related to the Fast and Furious program at the FBI. Shielded by his flight leader, who covered him with executive privilege, the wingman has also been referred to as Eric WithHolder ever since and never faced any consequences for this criminal misdemeanor. Because Nobody is above the law…

So, Eric Holder has manipulated the law and hasn’t got any business commenting on Kash Patel’s post. His hands are dirty. But he’ll never have to wash up before dinner because nobody at CNN (or anywhere else) is ever going to hold his feet to the fire. He’ll probably go on spouting off on things like this in the future as if he had something relevant to say, but when your credibility leaks like a sieve, you should probably sit down and shut up.
