President Donald Trump made headlines on Thursday by retracting the nomination of “Eagle” Ed Martin for the position of U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. This move came right after announcing a significant trade deal with the U.K. and addressing questions from journalists.
However, Martin’s journey does not end there. Later the same day, Trump revealed that Martin would assume a new role within the administration. He will now be taking on the responsibilities of the Director of the Weaponization Working Group, Associate Deputy Attorney General, and Pardon Attorney at the Department of Justice.

Trump praised Martin’s excellent work as the interim U.S. Attorney and expressed confidence in his new roles. Martin’s main tasks will involve overseeing investigations into the alleged Weaponization of the Government during the Biden administration and ensuring justice for those affected. Trump congratulated Martin on his new positions and wished him success in this crucial work.
Not only that, but Trump has now named Jeanine Pirro to step in as interim U.S. Attorney for D.C.
