On this morning’s episode of The View, things took a playful turn as the hosts shifted away from discussing current politics and delved into more lighthearted topics. One of the highlights was the mention of Walton Goggins, known for his role in The White Lotus, sporting a neon yellow Speedo for a recent magazine cover.
During the second Hot Topics segment of the day, Joy Behar revealed the latest swimsuit trend for men.
The host initiated the discussion by sharing a piece of summer news, “According to sources like The New York Times, The Guardian, and CNN, men’s skimpy swimsuits are a trend this summer, following a magazine feature of actor Walton Goggins in revealing swim briefs.”
A photo of Goggins with only his top half visible was displayed on the screen, prompting Alyssa Farah Griffin to humorously note, “There’s not much to see!” Joy Behar joined in jest, explaining that the show had to censor his swimsuit because it revealed “a bit too much of his Walton and Goggins.”
Behar’s comment became a running joke throughout the rest of the segment, particularly when Ana Navarro showed an old photo of her husband wearing a Speedo with a cup “strategically placed in front of his manhood,” as Navarro described it.
“His Goggins are covered up!” Sara Haines exclaimed, while Behar added, “I don’t see anybody covering their Goggins,” forcing Navarro to leave her seat and point out which of the men in the photo was her husband.
Of course, Behar had no room to judge since she met her current husband, Steve Janowitz, at a “nudist colony” — a fun fact Navarro won’t let her live down. On this morning’s episode of The View, Behar—who previously insisted that she was clothed at the so-called nudist colony—was once again forced to explain the time she first met her husband.
“Oh, my God — this story,” she said, before adding, “Steve was full monty, I hadn’t met him. He was far away from me and I [could still see him]. That’s a compliment to the guy, come on.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
