President Trump announced Jeanine Pirro’s appointment as Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia in a Truth Social post, writing:
“I am delighted to announce that Judge Jeanine Pirro has been selected as the interim United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. With a background as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, New York, Jeanine later served as a County Judge and District Attorney, making history as the first woman elected to these roles. Throughout her tenure, she was a fierce advocate for victims of crime, notably establishing the first-of-its-kind Domestic Violence Bureau in her Prosecutor’s Office. Beyond her legal accomplishments, Jeanine previously helmed her own Fox News program, Justice with Judge Jeanine, for a decade and currently co-hosts The Five, a top-rated television show. Widely recognized as one of the most accomplished District Attorneys in New York State history, Jeanine’s qualifications for this new role are stellar, setting her apart from her peers. Congratulations, Jeanine!”
