LOS ANGELES — He is one of music’s most prolific singer-songwriters and now the origin story of Bob Dylan is in a theater near you.
Timothée Chalamet gives a career-defining performance as the iconic folk singer in “A Complete Unknown.”
The storyline of the film unfolds across a span of four years, starting from the moment Bob Dylan made his way to New York’s vibrant West Village carrying only his guitar and groundbreaking talent, leading up to his meteoric ascent to stardom and the pivotal decision that had far-reaching cultural implications globally.
“The process of getting ready didn’t feel like conventional preparation. It felt more like an extended period of absorbing information that I now find challenging to part ways with,” shared Chalamet.
“One of the aspects that initially drew me to this film was the exploration of genius and how it can significantly influence and alter one’s relationships with both loved ones and adversaries,” reflected director, writer, and producer James Mangold.
“A Complete Unknown” also stars Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Boyd Holbrook, Dan Fogler, Norbert Leo Butz and Scoot McNairy.
In this look behind-the-scenes at the film, the stars and filmmakers discuss the music, the time period and what made Dylan a legend and how they brought this story to life on screen.
