Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) sparked criticism from various figures across the political spectrum after she appeared to voice her strong disapproval of the recent airstrikes conducted against Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Tlaib’s reaction came in response to revelations about a Signal text group that involved key national security officials, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. The group reportedly engaged in discussions regarding confidential information regarding imminent operations targeting the armed insurgent group.
Someone accidentally looped in Jeffrey Goldberg, editor of “The Atlantic,” into the chat.
“This constitutes a severe breach of national security, and there must be consequences for those responsible,” stated Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-PA) in remarks shared by reporter Andrew Solender on X.
Tlaib replied, “More heat for using a group chat than for the bombing itself.”
