Six people were shot; two were dead when emergency crews arrived.

Three people are in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said.

Two people were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center and one to University of Chicago Medical Center.

The other victim was taken to Mt. Sinai hospital in fair-to-serious condition.

Officials did not provide any other information about the victims.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the shooting.

Chopper 7 was over the scene about 3 p.m. There is a massive emergency response in the area, and roads appear to be blocked off.

Chicago police officers have been seen going inside a home on West 59th near St. Louis Avenue.

CPD is expected to give an update later Monday.

Community activist Pastor Donovan Price commonly responds to shooting scenes.

He said this one is even more tragic during the holiday season.
