President-elect Trump has been announcing his picks for his upcoming administration even during the holiday weekend, surprising many with a particular selection made on Saturday afternoon.
Trump shared his nomination for U.S. Ambassador to France in a post on his Truth Social account. He wrote:
Congratulations to Charlie and his wife Seryl, along with their four children and 14 grandchildren. Their son Jared has previously collaborated with me in the White House, notably on Operation Warp Speed, Criminal Justice Reform, and the Abraham Accords. Together, we aim to enhance America’s alliance with France, our oldest and one of our most important allies!
One aspect that may draw attention regarding this decision, as noted in the previous paragraph, is that Kushner is actually a relative as he is the father-in-law to Trump’s daughter Ivanka and a grandparent to her and Jared’s three kids.
BREAKING: President Trump appoints Charles Kushner as U.S. Ambassador to France. Charles is the father of Jared Kushner.

During his first term, President Trump granted full pardons to 26 people in the days before Christmas in 2020, including Charles Kushner:
He served more than 16 months of a two-year sentence in federal prison and a halfway program before he was released in 2006, NorthJersey.com reported. Trump pardoned Charles Kushner in 2020, saying at the time that Kushner was devoted to philanthropic organizations and causes.
