However, Donald Trump took a different approach. Last Friday (March 21), he canceled the security clearances of various political adversaries, which included Hillary Clinton, his most vocal critic and a two-time unsuccessful presidential candidate.
Many of these clearances are simply not in our “national interest,” the president argued:
A memo was issued by President Trump on Friday, revoking the security clearances of more than a dozen people, such as former President Joe Biden and his entire family, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and Hillary Clinton.
In the memo addressed to the leaders of executive departments and agencies, Trump stated, “I have decided that it is no longer in the best interest of the nation for the individuals listed to have access to classified information,” as he proceeded to identify those individuals who are now prohibited from obtaining classified data.
