You can live in a firehouse but there's a catch. See the quirky three-bedroom home on the market for $100k

For anyone whose ever dreamed of living in a real firehouse, the opportunity has come – but not without a major catch.

A rare chance to own a piece of firefighting history has been listed in Hamilton, Ohio, where a former fire station has hit the market for $100,000.

The historic fire station has gained widespread attention on social media platforms after being showcased on Zillow Gone Wild, a site recognized for displaying some of the most remarkable property listings in the United States.

But the property, which served as Hose House No. 5 until 1959, comes with a catch.

Prospective buyers should be prepared to put in some work as the property comes with an extensive renovation project.

‘It definitely needs a little love,’ said listing agent Arthur Greenlee IV of Exp Realty to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The property, however, does have a pending offer above the asking price.

But the quick offer comes as no surprise to Greenlee, who believed the right buyer would recognize the building’s potential.

‘I knew the right person with the right eye would be willing to put in the work to restore it,” he told the outlet.

According to reports, the property generated significant interest shortly after its listing. Within a day, two offers were received, leading to a contract being signed the following day. Additionally, Zillow expressed interest in featuring the fire station on their platform, ultimately posting it on Zillow Gone Wild a few days later.

The 3,120-square-foot property retains many of its original architectural features, including soaring ceilings, original brick walls, and a distinctive spiral staircase.

‘There’s so much more waiting for us to discover in that cozy space filled with warmth and laughter, a perfect place where we can relax, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company,’ the Zillow Gone Wild listing writes.

‘The stairs may seem ordinary, but as we ascend, we are stepping into a realm of countless memories and adventures just waiting to unfold.’

With its architectural features, including exposed wooden beams and brick walls that show its historic character, the building offers many possibilities for transformation.

‘Those ceilings are beautiful. Their intricate designs and elegant arches draw the eye upward, inviting admiration from all who enter the room,’ the listing continues.

‘The craftsmanship reflects a dedication to artistry, with every detail meticulously crafted to enhance the space.’

‘Whether adorned with ornate plasterwork, vibrant frescoes, or graceful moldings, these ceilings transform ordinary rooms into breathtaking environments that inspire awe and appreciation.’
