Four officials from the Department of Homeland Security working at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are getting fired for breaking one of President Donald Trump’s rules. RedState shared that around $59 million got sent to fancy hotels in New York City for accommodating undocumented immigrants in early February. This happened even after the White House had demanded a halt to such payments, aiming to use the funds for helping American disaster victims instead.
The Trump administration must continue making progress despite these setbacks. It is hoped that the ongoing power struggle within the bureaucracy will eventually result in a decision by the Supreme Court that puts an end to this resistance by parts of the government. American citizens chose Trump in the election, regardless of personal opinions about him. They were aware that ultimate control over federal organizations lies within the presidency’s authority. Their vote did not intend to give unknown government workers the final decision on how their tax money is utilized.
Democrats who keep pushing this issue through lawfare are going to regret it.
