Daddy Gang, this is for you.
Hulu has unveiled the trailer for “Call Her Alex,” a two-part documentary focusing on Alex Cooper, a prominent podcaster, as she gears up for her inaugural tour.
The official synopsis details that the series will provide a close-up, backstage view of the pivotal moments that have influenced Cooper’s path, showcasing her evolution from a 24-year-old host of a podcast centered on sex and dating to the head of a media conglomerate within a span of six years. Beyond just a tale of triumph, it paints a picture of a woman who is carving out a platform where women can feel acknowledged, listened to, and empowered.
Throughout the trailer, we witness Cooper discussing her quest for flawlessness in her live performance while coming to terms with the fact that “the flaws in the show are what truly define its essence.”
She reflects on her childhood in Pennsylvania, where she says “it was normalized to speak your mind.”
She also looks back on her time as a college athlete where she says, “I experienced something extremely painful.” That moment made Cooper realize she needed to find her new purpose.
That purpose was podcasting. The trailer shows her ups and downs in the space and ultimately her rise to becoming one of the most important voices of her generation, interviewing everyone from Simone Biles to Post Malone to Vice President Kamala Harris to Jane Fonda who called her “one of the best interviewers I’ve ever had.”
“Call Her Alex” premieres June 10 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
