What’s the latest on Yellowstone’s future as we prepare for tonight’s finale? I’m glad you asked!
Fans were puzzled by the show promoting tonight’s episode as the season finale when the series was reportedly set to conclude after the fifth season. After months (and months and months) of rumors, Deadline reported that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will lead a new spinoff show that will “likely feature other cast members from the mothership series.”
Why is Yellowstone going forward with a spinoff instead of a sixth season? The most likely reason has to do with the show’s streaming deal with Peacock. A sixth season of Yellowstone would stream on Peacock, but a new spinoff series could join 1923, 1883, and the slew of other Taylor Sheridan shows on Paramount+.
So Yellowstone is ending but also beginning? I guess? I’m sure more details about the spinoff will be forthcoming, but for now, let’s enjoy one last rodeo. Here’s how to watch tonight’s Yellowstone finale live on Paramount Network.
Tonight’s Yellowstone finale (Season 5, Episode 14: “Life Is A Promise”) airs at 8:00 p.m. ET on Paramount Network and CMT.
Yellowstone will be followed by 1923 Episode 2 at 9:50 p.m. ET, Paramount+’s The Agency at 11:01 p.m. ET, and an encore presentation of Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 14 at 12:20 a.m. ET.
Just a reminder: All eight episodes of 1923 Season 1 are available to watch on Paramount+.
The official synopsis for the episode notes that the fate of the ranch will be revealed.
“As the Duttons and the Yellowstone cowboys lay John to rest, the fate of the ranch is revealed.”
Yellowstone airs live on Paramount Network, but, unfortunately, you can no longer stream Paramount Network via the network’s website. Thankfully, you can find a Paramount Network live stream with an active subscription to Philo, fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, DirecTV Stream, or YouTube TV.
Philo is the most affordable option ($28/month) and offers a seven-day free trial. YouTube TV, fuboTV, and Hulu + Live TV also provide free trials for new subscribers.
New episodes are also available to buy on Amazon ($1.99 SD, $2.99 HD, $3.99 UHD) the morning after they air on Paramount Network.
Season 5, Part 2 should eventually drop on Peacock, but new episodes won’t be available for next-day streaming on the platform.
The midseason finale of Yellowstone aired January 1, 2023, on Paramount Network and the first eight episodes of the season debuted May 25, 2023, on Peacock. If the series follows a similar streaming schedule, new episodes of Yellowstone should premiere on Peacock about six months after tonight’s finale airs on Paramount Network.
Finally, you can sign in with your TV provider via the Paramount Network website to watch the series on demand.
Nope. The series isn’t available to stream on Paramount+.
