The Critics Choice Association has revealed the champions of the seventh annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards, which honor outstanding nonfiction, unscripted, and reality television productions from broadcast, cable, and streaming services.
A standout at the ceremony was ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” claiming victory in two categories: Best Competition Series – Talent/Variety and Male Star of the Year for Stephen Nedoroscik. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, the hosts, expressed their gratitude in a joint video, acknowledging the show’s entire team, including executives, crew, dancers, and judges. Ribeiro emphasized the importance of the collective effort, stating, “We cannot do it without them.” Hough teased the audience about the upcoming season, saying, “Can’t wait to see you, season 34.” Meanwhile, Nedoroscik reflected on his transformative experience on the show, noting, “I am incredibly honored to be named Male Star of the Year. ‘Dancing with the Stars’ took me out of my comfort zone, which I found immensely rewarding. It taught me valuable life lessons like resilience, self-expression, and the ability to find joy in discomfort.”
Another big winner was FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham,” which clinched the title of Best Sports Show. Ryan Reynolds, the executive producer, accepted the accolade graciously, expressing his deep appreciation for the audience’s support. Reynolds conveyed his profound affection for the show, stating, “Wrexham holds a special place in my heart, and I cherish every moment of it. Your viewership means the world to me.”
Other winners included Nat Geo’s “No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski” for Best Structured Series. “This has been a beautiful opportunity to tell stories through food, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” Porowski said.
“Jeopardy!” won Best Game Show, while “Shark Tank” (ABC) was recognized as Best Business Show. “Tucci in Italy” (National Geographic) took home Best Limited Series.
