On Thursday, a woman from Utah was reported missing by her family. Sadly, her body was discovered early Saturday morning. Police suspect her ex-boyfriend of being involved in her murder and have labeled him as a “person of interest.”
Talia Benward, aged 31, was the missing woman. The authorities believed she had either been killed or was being held against her will by her ex-boyfriend, Nestor Rocha-Aquaya, aged 24, whom they described as violent.
A K9 unit located Benward’s body in a secluded area of Tooele County around 5:30 a.m. Her remains were then transferred to the medical examiner for further investigation.
Police said she “may have suffered from blunt force trauma to her neck area” and that they were investigating her death as a murder, KSL said.
Police asked anyone with information to contact the Unified Police Department at 801-840-4000 and not confront the “person of interest” themselves.
