Earlier this month, a Texas couple was taken into custody after accusations surfaced of them recording themselves engaging in sexual abuse with a 1-year-old infant and then distributing the unlawful videos to the woman’s mother.
It all began on December 27 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reached out to Homeland Security following a tip-off received from TikTok regarding the presence of pornographic content. The focus of the investigation revolved around Cleyret Pacheco-Peraza, a 22-year-old whose TikTok account matched her Facebook account through a shared email, according to OA Online.
The unfolding inquiry identified Leiwin Lara-Hernandez, 23, who featured in images with Pacheco-Peraza and the infant commemorating the child’s first birthday. The nature of the relationship between the couple and the child has not been made public.
According to OA Online, Pacheco-Peraza admitted to performing oral sex on the baby about 50 times. She allegedly also confessed to filming Lara-Hernandez sexually abusing the baby and sending the video to her mother in Russia.
The couple, who were arrested on January 3, are charged with aggravated sexual assault, possession of child pornography, and possession of child pornography with intent to promote it.
Jail records indicated that Pacheco-Peraza and Lara-Hernandez’s bonds totaled $180,000. They remain in custody on an ICE hold.
