Jamie Foxx to reveal TRUTH about health crisis on Netflix special after wild Diddy 'poisoning' rumors

Jamie Foxx says he will speak candidly about recent life events as he promotes his upcoming special What Had Happened Was… on Netflix.

Foxx, aged 56, expressed his gratitude on Instagram on Sunday, stating that he feels blessed to share his story in his own words. He thanked numerous individuals and highlighted the power of prayer in his journey.

The Terrell, Texas native thanked fans in Atlanta, where he made his comeback to the standup stage.

The Oscar-winning actor gave a special acknowledgment to Atlanta for the warm reception and sense of belonging they provided. Despite an 18-year hiatus from the stage, he felt like he never left, attributing it to the welcoming atmosphere created by the audience. Foxx eagerly anticipates sharing the same energy with a broader audience.

Reflecting on the filming process of the special, Foxx likened it to a spiritual experience akin to being in a place of worship. He mentioned that amidst laughter and a few tears shed, the essence of the production revolved around cherishing life and embracing the opportunity for new beginnings.

Foxx in the special speaks about rumors linking the health crisis he suffered last year to embattled music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, according to three people who attended the shows October 3-5 at the Alliance Theatre’s Coca-Cola Stage.

Choke No Joke, a producer-director, told Comedy Hype’s YouTube account October 7 that he was at the first and third shows.

Choke No Joke said Foxx identified himself as ‘the one who called the FBI on’ Combs, 54, who has been in custody since his September arrest in New York City in connection with federal sex trafficking allegations.

Foxx said in a serious tone during one of the shows that ‘Diddy was responsible for what happened to him,’ Choke No Joke said.

Foxx was laying low out of fear of retribution from Combs, Choke No Joke said, citing how the actor quickly returned to the limelight after Combs was arrested September 16 – attending a Dallas Cowboys practice the following week.

Choke No Joke added, ‘And now he just went and shot his special. And who’s the special strongly based around? Diddy.’

Choke No Joke subsequently told Page Six that he’d been ‘shocked’ Foxx spoke about the topic, as he previously heard rumors within the entertainment industry linking Foxx’s health issues with Combs’ legal woes.

Big Homie.CC, who is a celebrity bodyguard, said in an October 19 exchange with Cam Capone News that he believes Foxx was ‘poisoned’ by Combs last year, leading to a lengthy recovery period, and convincing Foxx to submit info to authorities regarding Combs.

Big Homie.CC said, ‘Jamie Foxx reported him to the FBI because of it … Jamie Foxx reported this man to the FBI because of this.’

Two concertgoers  – Choke No Joke (L) and Big Homie.CC – have detailed Foxx’s comments at the shows in regard to the Diddy rumors

Big Homie.CC told Page Six that he attended two of Foxx’s Atlanta shows while accompanying a client.

Another attendee, Dennis L.A. White, told the outlet he had been at the latter two shows, and believes Foxx distanced Combs from his health problems in his monologues.

White said Foxx said something along the lines of: ‘People keep asking me if Diddy was responsible. He was not responsible. If he was, I would’ve been dead.’

Foxx advertised the shows on his social media September 2, saying he would take ‘the stage to share his journey through a serious health scare, filled with humor, heart, and inspiration!’

The ad read: ‘Experience Jamie Foxx like never before in this intimate and engaging performance, as he opens up about his struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. Get ready for a night of laughter, reflection, and genuine connection.’

In a teaser for the show, which was directed by Hamish Hamilton, Foxx said, ‘I said, “If I can stay funny, then I can stay alive” – I’m back.’

The comedy event is one of a number of forthcoming projects the A-list actor has on slate, as he headlines the comedy movie Back in Action for the streaming service in a reunion with Any Given Sunday and Annie costar Cameron Diaz. The film is expected to begin streaming January 17, 2025.

What Had Happened Was… is slated to debut on Netflix December 10.
