WHO ARE JENNA ORTEGA’S PARENTS?

Ortega’s acting skills are outstanding, but she probably couldn’t have achieved fame without the decisions her parents and family made decades ago. Although she was born in America, she is of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent

Her maternal great-grandmother lived on a small ranch near Sinaloa, Mexico, with her four daughters, but she moved with her children to the States as an illegal immigrant to give them better opportunities.

She sent her four daughters to English-speaking schools and made them speak only English to avoid drawing attention and facing deportation. Ortega’s maternal grandfather is also Latino.

[Ortega’s] family has kept alive their Mexican traditions.

He was born in Puerto Rico, moved to New York with his family when he was a baby, and settled in California during his high school years. He was the only entertainer in the family, and Ortega believes she inherited the acting bug from him.

Although Ortega’s dad is 100 percent Mexican, he does not know which part of Mexico his family is from because they moved to the States before he was born.

It is essential to point out that not everyone in Ortega’s family speaks Spanish fluently. Her mother does and has been teaching Ortega, her five siblings, and her dad for years.

JENNA ORTEGA LOVES LATINO TRADITIONS

While Ortega has always lived in the States, her family has kept alive their Mexican traditions. Apart from having piñatas for their birthdays, they frequently play soccer and are “very competitive.”

Food is also a crucial aspect of the Ortegas. They would eat beans, rice, guacamole, tamales, and other Mexican food, and one of Ortega’s aunts used to teach her Mexican recipes in Spanish. What a lovely family!
